Let the journey begin

I can't wait for the school year to begin in August so I can share my whole brain teaching experience with others. I have been an advocate for WBT since my student teaching (4th grade) in 2009. I discovered this wonderful way of teaching when my supervising teacher asked me if I knew of any good classroom management techniques. I went home that night and began to do some research, and I came across WBT. I introduced it to her and we began using it the next week and it was SO successful. We only used the scoreboard and I could not wait to have my own classroom to use more WBT strategies. I began teaching on my own last year and I was struggling a lot at the beginning of the year. After some self reflection and 4 weeks into school I realized I was not utilizing WBT! I took a deep breath and introduced my kindergarteners to WBT and the results were amazing. My team began using aspects of WBT, but not all and they too were very successful. I encouraged four other teachers and my principal to attend a WBT conference in Joplin and we all loved it and gained so much insight from the conference. Here's to a great WBT journey!
